Collection: Michele Hilsenbeck-Quilling Artist
Quilling is a very old paper art, in that strips of paper are twirled and curled into different shapes, which are then combined into larger shapes and pictures. This artform has been around for hundreds of years and is a distant cousin to origami... but where origami generally uses sheets (albeit small) of paper, quilling uses strips of paper, which can vary in width from 1mm up to 10mm.
All the items here feature quilled components as the main feature of the piece. Other embellishments are added to fill out and complete each individual item.
The artist welcomes custom and special orders for consumers looking for that "exact" right combination of form and color.
